After 2 and a half years of making snarky memes on Nolita Dirtbag — I wanted to put a little more context behind what I’m seeing, hearing, consuming and laughing at in the streets of New York along with the dark depths of the internet.

I am not a journalist or seasoned writer (or reader for that matter) — and I don’t want it to feel that way. This outlet will be closer to a rambling text from a fringe acquaintance as opposed to an editor-in-chief approved schmooze article.

Medium Rare is the self proclaimed go-to place to find out What is Cooking and What is Cooked. We’ll also have deep dives on local happenings (no big brain thinkpieces - I promise), local news roundups and monthly interviews with local legends.

In those pieces I’ll be covering all sorts of things — brands, trends, parties, venues, restaurants, TikTok freaks, nyc main character syndrome, and general cultural extrapolation. If it’s happening in NYC and anyone who’s ever said “I’ll do the half dozen of the Wellfleet oysters and a white negroni” would care about it — we’ll be covering it.

I want you to feel ”in the loop” on what’s happening in NYC, learn some new things, ponder other things and blow a little air through your nose while doing it. (Because that’s what actually happens when you say LMAO on your phone).

The long-term goal is for Medium Rare to be THE hyperlocal news outlet of the future — using funds from this to start a weekly news show along with short form docs on #cool stuff.
